該片是長篇歷史劇《淵蓋蘇文》的製作公司DSP ENT的首部電影作品。有電影《笨蛋》的金正權導演執導。是根據2003年榮獲南韓李箱文學獎的短篇小說《那男子的書198頁》改編而成。
